Good session tonight – attended by Harold, Dave, Eric, Bob, Richard, Cary, and a guest, Jack Miller. Full schedule was run with an extra “Phantom” passenger consist throwing a curve at the freight operators.
We started with a refresher on the car cards and waybills (there was a slight problem with cars not being where they were supposed to be, and cars sitting in towns with no related car cards and waybills). Everyone was happy to get the reminder, and operations should be smoother again.
Richard had sliced the rails on a troublesome turnout in Jeremiah Industrial to see if that would fix a problem that the steam locos (and some of the diesels) were having with shorting out; it was successful in that none of the motive power shorted on that turnout, but another turnout right next to it is a prime candidate for the same treatment. Eventually all the turnouts will be retrofitted in the same manner, virtually eliminating the issue completely.
