Here are the minutes from the quarterly business meeting held on January 15, 2010. Any changes will mean this entry will be updated.
Black Canyon Railroad Museum, Inc
Regular Business Meeting January 15, 2010
The meeting opened at 7:00 PM, President Cary Cartter presiding.
Members present: Bob Hedges, Al Elsroad, Richard Petrina, Ben Vernille and Harold Shelton.
The minutes from the previous meeting, Oct 9th 2009, were accepted and approved.
Officer Reports
President, Cary Cartter
Cary had no report at this time. He did officially announce that the Club has now a 501(c)(3) status. Dues paid last year are income tax deductible on this years tax return.
Treasurer, Bob Hedges
Bob gave his quarterly report and a meeting with Stacy, our accountant, to make sure we have the correct paperwork for the IRS and the State. The report was accepted and approved.
Construction Superintendent, Harold Shelton
Since the last meeting the layout has undergone the normal maintenance and repair, including turnouts, buildings and rolling stock.
Old Business
The remaining payment of $448.00 for the Downtown Deco Buildings was paid to Harold.
There has not been any response from John McGinty at this date concerning the new layout possibilities on the Indian reservation in Scottsdale.

The layout time frame was discussed. The Steam to Diesel transition from 1940 up to and including 1968 and second generation diesels was approved and seconded.
The Club logo revision, including color and script change is still awaiting processing by the graphics company. Follow-up on this will be done to get time frames
New Business
Discussed the possibilities of moving the railroad to the Cave Creek area. An E-Mail was received from interested parties in moving the Club to Cave creek. A list of questions were asked to be answered in letter form that would allow them to answer inquiries from the Kiwanis Club and the Cave Creek Museum. A meeting on 1-20-10 in Cave Creek is set to address the interest in the Club.
The web site will be changed to note the 501(c)(3) status. There also will be a change in our IP provider for the web site. The new provider will be Blue Host.

Next regular meeting is scheduled for Friday April 16th @ 7 PM
It is also noted that this site has passed the 8,000 visitor count. Looking forward to ten thousand visitors!
