The physical railroad is moving.

At about 15′ wide and 18′ long, it’s not moving in one piece. Harold originally built it with transportation in mind (although, after thirty years, transporting it did not stay at the top of the priority list) and it is therefore built in sections.

The first cut was made by Harold himself. After about four hours of work, Richard, Bob and Cary were able to get the first section separated from the rest. Two more followed in quick succession.

A dinner break was called before the final business meeting at the current location. The operators of An Affair With Trains were in attendance, to answer any questions about the destination and the disposition of the railroad. The Museum will still be holding operating sessions on the railroad in it’s new home in the back of the store. Yes, the layout will be on display and have operating trains on it, visible anytime the store is open (Tuesday thru Friday 10-5:30, Saturday 9-3, and Sunday 1-4). Pardon the dust while we get the layout ready for it’s public appearance.
