The physical railroad is moving.

At about 15′ wide and 18′ long, it’s not moving in one piece. Harold originally built it with transportation in mind (although, after thirty years, transporting it did not stay at the top of the priority list) and it is therefore built in sections.

Nothing is final or definite yet – however, we are holding a special meeting prior to the regularly scheduled operating session on Friday, June 2, 2011.

New Power

The railroad has new power supplies and distributors, and is ready to run again. On April 1, the club met to do a little cleaning and adjusting. Friday, April 8, will be a business meeting. The next operating session will be Friday, April 15th.

Power and control have been restored to the railroad. Normal operating session has been scheduled for Friday, April 1st, 2011 at the normal time. Here’s to a long life for the power supplies!

Power Supplies and Other Hazards

It would appear that the power supplies for the DCC system that keeps the freight and passengers rolling on the Black Canyon Railroad will be out of service for a while longer – long enough, at least, to cancel this week’s operating session.

We are all looking forward to getting back on the throttles.

Normal operating session, short crew, and still refining the schedule #38 update. Dave, Bob, Richard, Cary, and Harold were in attendance.
