Jeremiah Station
This is a scratch-built structure using sheet styrene with a commercial roofing material.
Construction
The main shell of the structure was made as a sub-assembly. The tower was fabricated mostly from a large block of wood. Porticos were fabricated using styrene as separate sub-assemblies then added to the main building to complete the building’s footprint. Windows and glazing were added before painting. The roof was completed including roof tile as a separate sub-assembly before adding it to the wall sub-assemblies to complete the project.

Detail
The windows and glazing along with some architectural elements and several special shapes were fabricated to give an overall feeling of completeness. Extra details, such as people, the court yard, and the loading platforms were added after the building was installed on the layout.
Conformity
This structure was made to follow the general feel of a station in California from the plans supplied with a kit by Historic Scale Miniature Co.
Finish
The finish was airbrushed on using Floquil paints. Weathering was applied using acrylic paint to complete the structure.
