Queen Anne House
This is a scratch-built structure. With the exception of the porch railings, all material is sheet styrene.
Construction
The main shell of the structure, including the floor, was fabricated using .060 thick styrene. The lap siding was applied using strips cut from .010 thick styrene. All the structure’s trim and windows were were fabricated from .010 or .020 thick styrene. The porch railings were commercially produced. The roof is made as a separate sub-assembly to be removable; this was done to facilitate lighting the structure at a later date. After building the roof, Campbell roofing material was used to cover it.

Please forgive the angle of picture number 2, as the house is in a position that makes photographing difficult at best.
Detail
All windows were built up as separate sub-assemblies including window glazing, then applied to the finished walls.
Conformity
This structure representing a Queen Anne House from the 1800′s was constructed using the plans from a kit manufactured by the Historical Scale Miniature Company. All construction material from the kit was discarded in favor of scratch building with raw stock.
Finish
The finish was airbrushed on using Floquil paint. Weathering was applied using acrylic paints.
Scratchbuilt
Structure is scratch built except for porch railings and roof shingles.
